GREENEVILLE, TN – Russell LeRoy Richardson, 80, died Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
A longtime resident of Greeneville, TN, Mr. Richardson was a member of the Mountain Valley Church of the Brethren. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a POW for 28 months and was a member of the VFW.
He is survived by children, Ronald Richardson and wife Karen of Savannah, GA, Sue Ann Wright of Minnesota, Dennis Richardson and wife Darlene of Greeneville, Russell Richardson, Jr. of Georgia, Joe and Lisa Aliffie and Bill Tessanne; grandchildren, Ronald Richardson Jr. of Georgia, Olivia Richardson of Minnesota, Mike Tessanne, Linda Bowman, Jerry Collins, James Collins, Patrick McCracken of Pennsylvania and Valerie Hockenberry of Greeneville; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Emily and Ervin Winkleman of Iowa and Ellen and Don Marsh of Minnesota; a brother, Orval "Bill" Richardson of MD; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey Richardson and Zella Madison, a daughter, Malinda Finch, a grandson, Leonard Richardson, and his first wife, Marlene Griffith.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the Mountain Valley Church of the Brethren in Greeneville.
Burial will be in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery in Greeneville with full military honors provided by the Greene County Honor Guard.
Sorry I Missed It,I'm sure uncle Russell and God didn't mind, I Hope all you Guys are Doing well down south, Ronny Jr,n SR,& Robert too! Miss you Guys.

Mr. Russell will sorely be missed as he was the bulwark of the family. Our comfort lies in remembering that he lived a full and good life in the lord. **Cheers** to the life of Mr. Russell, a soldier for God, a soldier for us, a good father and a true friend to me for 13 years.**God bless and hooah**
